Zorro "Zorro" is the exciting and high-budget musical that is currently being shown at London’s fantastic Garrick Theatre. Based on the book and the lyrics of Stephen Clark and with music by the cool Gipsy Kings, this musical hits all the right notes.

It has attracted audiences from all over the world and its success must partly be due to the famous movie starring Antonio Banderas, which became a massive box-office hit. The current musical production has an excellent and highly experienced cast including Matt Rawle as Diego and Emma Williams as Luisa.

It is also choreographed by Spain’s one and only Raphael Amargo, who is regarded world wide as a legend and is in high demand amongst many theatre companies. It is unsurprising that this production is often booked up well in advance and anyone interested in tickets should most certainly book their tickets early to avoid disappointment.

"Zorro" is about a Spanish masked nobleman who secretly attempts to defend his people and land from villainous aristocrats and greedy businessmen. His incredible sword-fighting skills and his bravery means that he is able to accomplish his valiant mission skilfully and smoothly with a notable air of class.

Zorro’s mask hides his features adds to the mystery surrounding this noble character and is the cause of much discussion amongst town people as to who may be behind the mask. This creates a sense of suspense in the musical as audiences are on the edge of their seats in anticipation of the moment when the mask will be unveiled and the hero receives a worthy recognition of his efforts. Given the adventurous and thrilling nature of the Zorro legend, subtlety is clearly something that the director was not aiming for.

Indeed this London production is overwhelming and spectacular and will astound audiences with its terrific choreography, top-class Gipsy King music, excellent and groundbreaking acting performances from famous theatre actors and, on top of all that, there is the marvellous setting of the Garrick Theatre as the venue of "Zorro". The high-budget was definitely money very well spent and it helps ensure that the fighting scenes are backed up by excellent special effects and props. All in all it is difficult to find any sound faults at all with this production.

While very young children might be frightened by some of the action scenes between Zorro and his enemies, it is evident that older children, teenagers and adults will all be assured of an excellent night out at a London theatre if they choose this production of "Zorro".
