The legendary heavy metal band Deep Purple is going on tour in the UK. Deep Purple will give two live concerts at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo on Saturday, 14 November 2009 and on Sunday, 15 November 2009.

Deep Purple was formed 1968 in Hertford by Chris Curtis. Curtis had the idea of a band with rotating members, therefore the band was first named "Roundabout". Only later, the band's name was changed into Deep Purple. In total, Deep Purple had already fourteen different band members. Only Ian Paice, known as one of the best hard rock drummers in the world, is left from the 1968 band setting. Currently, Paice is joined by the following other band members: Ian Gillan (vocalist and songwriter), Roger Glover (keyboardist, songwriter and bassist), Steve Morse (guitar) and Don Airey (keyboardist).

Deep Purple started as a heavy rock band together with Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. Their sound later transformed into heavy metal , which is also influenced by classical music, progressive rock, blues rock and pop. This variety of music makes their live concerts must see performances!

Deep Purple has already released 18 albums and sold over 100 million copies worldwide. Now their 28th concert tour starts in April 2009. During this phenomenal 2009 tour, the band will visit Japan, Russia, Poland, Chech republic, Slovakia, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Turkey, Greece, Lebanon. Deep Purple will of course also hit the Uk with gigs in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and London!
