Set shortly before the First World War in the town of Brumley, the Birling family is gathered at their cozy home in the London suburbs celebrating the engagement of their daughter, Sheila, to Gerard Croft, son of George Croft of Croft's Ltd., a competitor of Birling's company. The celebration is interrupted by the mysterious Inspector Goole investigating the death of one of Birling's employees. It is quickly revealed that everyone in the family had some relation to the victim, but who was responsible for her death? The plot thickens.
