Spider’s Web holds the record as theater’s longest running best-selling play in history. It was written in 1954 for British comedienne and close friend of Agatha Christie, Margaret Lockwood.
For those familiar with the great names of the stage, expect an all-star cast featuring Denis Hill, Melanie Gutteridge, Catherine Shipton, Ben Nealon, and Bruce Montague!
Clarrisa, diplomat, stepmother, and second wife of Henry Hailsham-Brown, is known for being a bit over-dramatic, but when a corpse is found in her drawing-room during a garden party attended by a Soviet Prime Minister, a blackmailer, and her stepdaughter, Pippa, the drama of real life threatens to push her over the edge...
Expect all the trappings of Christie's works: an elegant manor house setting, a dinner party attended by colourful and exotic characters, and an inspector deprived of a sense of humour, immune to the charms of his suspects.
After a dedicated four year struggle to get exclusive co-operation with Agatha Christie Ltd., Bill Kenwright created The Agatha Christie Theatre Company in 2006 in order to produce the plays of the best-selling fiction writer of all time all over the United Kingdom.
