"The Taming of the Shrew," one of William Shakespeare's classics, is a comedy that combines a primary and sub-plot into one tale. The main character Pertrucio is a suitor that plays various tricks and uses many techniques to swoon the unruly Katherina, also referred to as Kate. Kate is a very strong willed and hot tempered character, that is come to be known as the 'shrew'.

Before Petrucio can marry Kate, he is determined to tame her into an obedient bride. He does this by using various psychological methods that will make her into the woman he wants her to be.

The sub-plot is based around Kate's sister, Bianca, who is also being courted by gentlemen that want to make her a bride. Bianca's character is less headstrong than Kate, so you can see how this would cause some turmoil within the entirity of the "The Taming of the Shrew".
