Avenue QTheatrical critics have been very generous with "Avenue Q" reviews. It seems to be the musical of the year, again, after running for three incredible years!
The musical of "Avenue Q" is superbly directed by Jason Moore from a brilliant idea of Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx. In the United States the show is already a cult; a sea of gadgets and t-shirts are on sale everywhere and the musical tunes are sung cheerfully around every corner.

After its first appearance in Broadway in 2003, the wild "Avenue Q" crew started a successful tour around the globe and three years ago it finally landed at London where its notoriety definitely exploded.
"Avenue Q" is a hysterical comedy and musical with a talented cast of performers and puppets.

The story is set in the jumbled "Avenue Q" area in New York where a group of co-tenants sharing the same building are the protagonists of this astonishing comedy. The ambiance on the stage is very close to the typical New York atmosphere; the main characters in their twenties and early thirties are unsatisfied and they always complain about their lives “suck”. They're unemployed and unlucky existences develop a funny and irresistible mechanism that conjure sympathy.

The factotum Gary, a couple of weird friends, four puppets and two monsters are the ingredients for this unique and incredible musical. Looking for a purpose in their life, this crazy gang make real friendships, share secrets, and even have sex! But the real protagonists, odd to say, are the puppets that make fun of each other, are scurrilous and are the soul of the show with melodic and catchy songs not properly romantic!

Because as a consequence of this incredible sold out, the soundtracks of "Avenue Q" musical have become a CD, where songs like “The Internet Is For Porn” and “It Sucks To Be Me” are becoming real hit!

Because of the abundance of bawdy scenes and themes, "Avenue Q" musical is suitable for adult and mature adolescents. It is not offensive, it is just slightly daring in some of its concepts and ideas, such as homosexuality, racism and pornography.

Overall the reviews are mostly positive and encouraging. The actors who gives the voices to the puppets and that hold them, are very talented and spontaneous, the songs are funny and involving and even if the scenario is simple and static, the colorful actors are enough to give a fully satisfying show.

"Avenue Q" can be defined as a real innovation in the show world! It has brought an exhilarating and original style of entertainment in London!

Do not miss the unique chance to see one of the most popular Broadway success, a messy, noisy and witty neighborhood of the time!
