Besides singing, he also studied at the University of Pisa, where he earned his law doctorate.

Bocelli became famous in Italy with his third album “Viaggio Italiano” in 1996. With his fourth album “Romanza” featuring the international hit single “Time to Say Goodbye”, he finally grew one of the greatest singers in the world. In 1999, he released the album “Sogno”, for which Bocelli earned a nomination in the category best new artist at the Grammy Awards . He won a Golden Globe Award for “Sogno”. “Sogno” was released in 1999 and it was sold over 1 million times world wide.

Now Andrea Bocelli is a world wide known classical pop star with over 19 albums and several hit singles on his name. In 2008, he released a new album “The best of Andrea Bocelli: Vivere”. This is his first ever hit compilation album.
